Hansel and Gretel

Once upon a time, there were two children, they are brother and sister. The little boy named Hansel and the girl named Gretel. They lived with their father and stepmother. Their father worked as a woodcutter. So, the family, unfortunately, lived in the poor. The times were hard and they had a tough life.

One night,  the couple had a serious conversation. "They eat far too much. If they keep doing this, we will die in starvation. We must get rid of them", said the stepmother. "I don't abandon my lovely children, they're too much precious for me", said their father. "So you want all four of us to die? Let's bring them to the wood and give them bread to eat. As the day starting to dark, we'll leave them in the middle of the wood so they won't ever come back", said the stepmother. But their father keeps declining it until she won't stop talking about that. So their father couldn't say anything except yes. Without their knowledge, the two children were listening to that conversation in the next room. Knowing that they were very sad. "What are we going to do? we will be going to die tomorrow", said Gretel anxiously. "Don't worry. Just sleep tight and have a good night", said Hansel.

The next day, the family went to the wood. The stepmother told the children that they were going to cut some wood to make fire. She gave them bread for each child. Fortunately, Hansel had a clever idea. He cut the bread to pieces and spread them all along their way. As soon as they reached the middle of the wood, their parents left them without their knowing.

"What are we going to do? We will die in starvation", said Grettel. "Don't worry. I already made some marks to make our way home.  Now, we just have to sleep and wake up in the morning", told Hansel.

The next morning, the children were so shocked. The mark that Hansel made had gone and they didn't have any clues to get their way back home. It was because the bread crumbs were eaten by birds. But there was a bird that still in that place. As soon the bird flew away, they followed it for hopes to find foods.

The bird stopped to lead them when they found a house. The house was fully made of candies and chocolates. They couldn't handle their hunger, so they ate the wall made of cakes.

Suddenly, an old woman came up from the house. "How dare you ate my house?!", yelled the old lady. They walked and walked but could not find the way back home. She locked up Hansel in a cage and asked Gretel to help her heat the oven. She would cook them and eat them up. But just as the witch bent to check the oven’s temperature, Gretel pushed her from behind and locked the oven door. Gretel rescued Hansel and they filled their pockets with the witch’s jewels.

Finally, they managed to find their way back home and gave jewels to their parents. Thanks to the clever children!
